Job Description

Red Dane Farming is looking for a full time Assistant Ranch Manager for our two Bush Dairies and Tuli beef herd located in Harare South. The selected person will work alongside our ranch manager to manage the day-to-day workings of a ranch and bush dairy and to maintain the health and performance of our cattle.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Management of cattle feeding and grazing

• Feed stock recording

• Calf rearing management

• Cattle health and performance recording​

Technical Capability Requirements

The successful applicant will:

• Have university level qualifications in an agricultural discipline – cattle farming preferred but not essential

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel)

• Have the ability to quickly learn new computer programs, as there will be a requirement to use the herd management software Uniform

• Work experience with ranch or dairy cattle is preferred but not essential – excellent graduates will be considered

Remuneration

• On-farm housing provided

• Salary and bonus to be discussed - dependent on experience
